St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

And the World Seemed the Same

The next morning, the sun rose in the East as it always did.  The merchants began to open their shops, closed for the Sabbath.
All was ready to give the day to the Lord.
The Roman soldiers were patrolling the town as they always did.
The birds were chirping loudly, or so it seemed.

Nothing had changed, but everything had changed.

The world would never be the same.

The stone was still in front of the tomb.
The Romans were alert for anyone passing by.
No one was allowed to stop.
The Roman guards had changed.  No one had gotten near the body.

The Apostles were huddled together in the Upper Room praying for fear of their lives.  Rumors were flying around town.  The sadness in the room was palpable.  The Master had died a horrible death.
The men were terrified.  They knew that Judas had hung himself.  Peter still wept.
His Mother and the women prayed quietly.  The women would interrupt their prayer to make food for the group.

The birds chirped outside in the trees.  Cats and dogs roamed the streets looking for food.  A few children were outside playing.  They could hear their mothers scolding them and bringing them in the house to celebrate the Sabbath.
Work had already begun to repair the Temple.

The cave was quiet.  His body was surrounded by angels worshiping Him and guarding His body.
Silence.

The world would know soon.
Very soon.
