St. Michael Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Glory to God in the Highest!

We couldn't be there...

Of course, the songs are beautiful,
but we weren't there.

We couldn't feel the cold surrounding our bodies as we walked the roads and into the town of Bethlehem.

We couldn't be there to feel the dashed hopes of Joseph as he went from place to place trying to find shelter for his wife and soon to be born child.

We couldn't be there to feel Joseph's sorrow as he was turned away again and again.

We couldn't be there to feel the disappointment as Joseph moved his wife into the stable where animals were housed.

We couldn't be there to feel his empty stomach growling and knowing that there was no food at this late hour.

We couldn't be there to feel the cold surround him as he waited for the birth of the Son of God.

We couldn't be there to hear Him whisper to the Father his prayers of sorrow mixed with joy at the coming of the Babe.

We couldn't be there as Joseph first beheld the Child, the Son of God, the Messiah.

We couldn't be there as the cold, night air no longer mattered because the Child, the Promised One of God had been born.

We couldn't be there to hear the angels sing of his birth.

We couldn't be there to see the young mother and father kneeling in adoration of their Child.

We couldn't be there to see the shepherds as they rushed to adore the newborn King.

We couldn't be there to see the mother and father with the Baby in their arms, sleep safely, guarded by angels.

We couldn't be there to see Joseph comforting the Child as He cried in the early morning hours so that his spouse, the other one chosen by God, could sleep.

We couldn't be there to hear the Babe crying, already suffering for us.

We couldn't be there,
but
we are here now.

For Unto Us a Child is born.
Are you ready?
He'll be here soon.

Celebrate His Birth.
Pray for Peace!
